What a high-value follower is, and what share to expect

A high-value follower is a follower Steam rates as a real, active account. Steam publishes the count for every curator but not how it decides. Among 718 curators with 1,000 or more followers, the median is 56%; under 30% is a reason to look closer.

Where the number comes from

Steam's public curator directory lists, for each curator, its followers and how many of them it counts as "high value". Curator Match reads that directory once a day and stores both numbers, so each curator's page shows the share and, over time, how it moved. Steam has not said what makes an account high value, and I have not found a Valve document that does. Treat the label as Steam's own opinion of the accounts.

What share to expect

As of Nov 4, 2026, among the 718 curators I track with 1,000 or more followers: the median share is 56%, 258 (36%) are under 30%, and 161 (22%) are under 10%. A low share fits bought followers, since bought accounts tend to be empty. It also fits a page whose audience is mostly new or idle accounts, so it is a sign to check, not a verdict.

How to use it

  • Open the curator's page here and read the share next to its follower count.
  • Under 30%: read three of its reviews and see whether it posts the same games on the same days as other pages. The other signs.
  • Over 50%, with recent reviews that read like someone played the game: a reasonable place to send a key through Curator Connect.
  • Publisher-run pages can have real followers and still post the same games as sister pages, so the share alone does not clear or condemn a page.

Limits

The figure covers only curators with 200 or more followers that I read daily. The label is Steam's and can change without notice. A share is a guess about a page, and nothing here says any named curator resells keys.

Look up a curator

Search the directory for the share of high-value followers on any tracked curator.

Figures come from a daily read of Steam's public curator pages, and each one states its date and the group it counts. Quote freely with a link to the page you used. The method and its limits are on Method and data.
