Glossary
The words this site uses, defined once.
- Curator
- A Steam page, run by a person or group, that recommends games to its followers.
- Curator Connect
- The Steamworks tool for sending keys to curators. Keys sent there can't be resold as easily, and you can see which were redeemed.
- High-value followers
- The share of a curator's followers that Steam rates as high value accounts. Steam publishes the count in its directory but not how it decides. Bought followers don't count.
- Warning sign
- A measurable pattern common among key resellers. Each has points: one or two points rank a curator lower; three or more ("several signs") hide it from search.
- Twin page
- Another curator that recommended 8 or more of the same games on the same days.
- Ring
- A curator with two or more twins: the pattern of one operator running several pages.
- Publisher family
- Pages from one publisher that post each other's releases the same day. Their followers look real, so they don't count as a ring.
- Follower jump
- 2,000 or more new followers in about a month. Marked on the follower chart from 500 in a week.
- Burst
- 20 or more positive recommendations on one day.
- Informational review
- A Steam curator post that neither recommends nor rejects a game.
- Match
- A curator that recommended or posted an informational review of one of the games you picked.
- Logged key
- A record that you sent a key for your game to a curator on a day.
- Decided key
- A logged key whose curator posted about the game, or that is 30 days old with no post.
- Posting rate
- Of a curator's decided keys, the share it posted about. Shown after 3 decided keys from 2 developers.
- Send list
- Curators you ticked, kept in your browser, ready to copy into Curator Connect.
- Verified curator
- A curator that proved it runs its page by putting a code in its Steam description.
- Tracking since
- The first day I recorded something. Follower history and logged keys can't be filled in for days before it.
