Warning signs
Every rule, its threshold and its weight.
Each sign is a pattern I can measure from Steam's public data. An honest curator can trip one, and a careful reseller can avoid all of them. One or two points rank a curator lower. Three or more hide it from search results by default.
| Sign | What it checks | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Low-quality followers | Steam rates fewer than 30% of its followers as "high value" accounts. For half the big curators it's over 55%. Bought or bot followers push this down. | 1, or 2 under 10% |
| Ring of pages | Two or more other curators recommended 8 or more of the same games on the same days. Skipped when over half the followers are high value, because publisher families do this too. | 2 |
| Twin page | One other curator recommended 8 or more of the same games on the same days. Can be a sister page or a ring. | 1 |
| Follower jump | 2,000 or more new followers in about a month, and at least a fifth more than before. Real curators gain a few a day. | 2 |
| Logged keys go nowhere | At least 5 keys that developers logged here are decided, and it posted about fewer than 1 in 5. | 2 |
| Inactive | Nothing posted in the last 90 days. | 1, or 2 after a year |
| No posts found | I couldn't find any recommendations from it. | 2 |
| Volume | More than 1.5 posts a day across its latest 100. Nobody plays that many games properly. | 1 |
| Burst | 20 or more positive recommendations on a single day. | 1 |
| One-line reviews | Recent positive reviews average under 40 characters. | 1 |
| Never says no | Recommends 99% or more of 200 or more rated games. Some honest curators only post games they like. | 1 |
| Few followers per review | Over 300 reviews with fewer than three followers per review, and mostly low-value followers. | 1 |
| Big following, few reviews | Fewer than 30 reviews but 3,000 or more followers, and mostly low-value followers. | 1 |
Why these
Resellers buy followers so Curator Connect lists them first, so follower quality and sudden jumps matter most. They often run several pages and post the same games on all of them, so same-day overlap matters next. They post whatever they get keys for, fast, so volume, bursts and one-line reviews follow. The numbers behind each are in the scam patterns report.
